Back of House Base Game

Back of House Base Game

Cooks race to collect as many orders as possible before the kitchen runs out of food.

It's quick to setup, easy to play, with 2 ways to win!

Welcome to the Diner!

You’ve just been hired as part of the Kitchen staff, also known as the Back of House.
Rush to fill as many Orders as possible before the Kitchen is Out of Food!
Look out for your fellow Cooks, they’ll try and sabotage you on your Break, ignore your Overtime, and force you to deal with the Trash.

This is a trick-taking card game of strategy, skill, and a dash of luck.

The game always starts with a full Expo Line. This means five (5) eager beaver customers put their Orders in early.

At the start a turn, Cooks can play a Cuisine Card - Breaks skip a Cook for a turn, Overtime ignores a Break, and Trash lets Cooks reset their hand.

Then, Cooks can fill as many Orders as their hand allows or Prep Food by drawing three (3) cards from the Kitchen Deck.

There is no limit on how many cards can be in a Cook's hand.

It is possible to use a single card for multiple Orders. This is called Splitting Orders and only works if all Orders are filled completely.

The Kitchen doesn't care where the food comes from, as long as the Orders are filled.

At the end of a turn, a new Order comes in and all existing Orders slide closer to the Garbage (Discard Pile). If the Expo Line is Full, the Order closest to the Garbage is Burned (sent to the Discard Pile) and those customers leave an angry review for the restaurant.

The shift ends when the Kitchen is Out of Food.

At End of Shift, the Cooks have one (1) final round to get rid of remaining food cards in their hands. They can do this by filling Orders or Trashing their hands.

Any Cook caught with food cards in their hand after End of Shift are hit with Food Waste. The Total of the Tips in their hand are deducted from their total Revenue earned during the game.

****Accidental Math Game****

Once the game is over, Cooks add all their Tips and all their Revenue SEPERATELY.

The Cook with the most Tips is the Customer's Favorite!
The Cook with the most Revenue is the Employee of the Shift!
The Cook that manages both is on track to becoming Assistant Manager!
